Install The Landing Gear Of Semi-Trailer
Step 1: Preparation
Before installing the landing gear, ensure that the semi-trailer is on a level and stable surface. Also, make sure that the trailer is properly secured, either with chocks or wheel locks, to prevent any unwanted movement.
Step 2: Removal of Old Landing Gear
If the semi-trailer already has a landing gear in place, it's necessary to remove it before installing the new gear. The removal process involves unbolting the old landing gear and disconnecting any attached components.
Step 3: Preparing the Trailer Frame
After removing the old landing gear, clear the frame of any existing debris or corrosion. Once the frame is clean, inspect it thoroughly for any signs of damage or structural issues that might compromise the performance of the new landing gear.
Step 4: Attaching the New Landing Gear
Most landing gears come pre-assembled, and installation usually requires only a few bolts and screws. However, to ensure that the landing gear is attached firmly to the trailer frame, use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts and screws to the manufacturer's specifications.
